About the Workshop
Most podcast guest advice teaches you how to sound polished.
This workshop teaches you how to sound like you.
Drop the Script is a live, interactive session (or watch on replay) designed for founders, operators, creators, and experts who want to use podcast appearances to grow their authority without sounding rehearsed, stiff, or forgettable.
Audiences don’t remember perfect answers.
They remember how you made them feel.
In this session, you’ll learn how to:
• Stop over-preparing and start showing up
• Translate your expertise into stories people connect with
• Speak in a way that builds trust and credibility
• Let your personality strengthen your authority, not dilute it
• Handle questions naturally without defaulting to canned responses
You’ll see real examples of what works, what falls flat, and why. We’ll break down the subtle differences between performing and connecting, and how to shift from one to the other.
This is not another boring media training.
It’s a workshop about presence.
If you’ve ever walked away from a podcast interview thinking, “That wasn’t really me,” this session will change how you approach the mic.
Authority is not built by sounding scripted.
It’s built by sounding real.
So before you Drop the Mic, learn how to Drop the Script!
About the Workshop Instructor
Miriam Katz is a public speaking coach and host of the “Ex Appeal” podcast. She has taught public speaking and communication at companies and institutions including Fundamental Media,
Strawberry Hotels, Brooklyn Delhi, MIT AI Lab, and more. Her coaching work is often inspired by her experience acting in films, television, video games, and Chili’s commercials; her improv training at Groundlings and UCB; and performing improv comedy in Los Angeles. She is also informed by her time working as a journalist at Artforum and the Los Angeles Times. She herself has spoken publicly at the Museum of Modern Art, Columbia University, Silencio, UCLA, and the Centre Pompidou, among many other places. Her podcast “Ex Appeal,” for which she is interviewing every person she’s ever been romantic with on any level, was a “Hot Topic” on “The View.” That’s right, Whoopi Goldberg knows her name.
